Therapy Dog Program

The Madera Unified Therapy Dog Program is designed to bring comfort, reduce stress, and promote emotional well-being among students and staff. These trained dogs help improve mental health, enhance social interactions, and create a positive school environment.

Rules for Meeting the Therapy Dogs

Please remember to ask before petting, use inside voices, walk calmly, avoid pulling tails or ears, do not feed or crowd the dogs, and be mindful of allergies to help keep everyone safe and comfortable.

Benefits of Therapy Dogs in Schools

Therapy dogs in schools help reduce stress and anxiety, improve reading skills, enhance mental well-being, strengthen memory and problem-solving skills, and decrease feelings of anger.
Public Hearings regarding the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), Budget Overview for Parents and the Proposed Budget for the Madera Unified School District will be held before the governing board of the district at Madera Unified School District Board Room, 1902 Howard Road, Madera CA 93637 on June 9, 2026 at 6:00 pm. The proposed budget will be available for inspection at the district office, 1902 Howard Road, Madera CA 93637 on June 4, 2026. Any member of the public may appear and be heard concerning the Local Control Accountability Plan and any resident of the district may object to the proposed budget or any item in the budget.
