About Us

At the Madera Unified School District Department of Transportation, we take great pride in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services to our students.
Each year, our dedicated school bus drivers collectively travel more than one million miles, ensuring the safe transport of over five thousand students who reside outside the established walk boundaries. In addition to daily routes, we also provide transportation for students participating in extracurricular and activity trips beyond district limits.

We are committed to ensuring that every student’s journey to and from school is conducted with the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and care.

Home to School Transportation

Madera Unified School District provides home-to-school transportation at no cost to students who attend district schools and reside outside the established radius zones, as outlined below:

Grades K–6: 1 mile from the school site

Grades 7–8: 1.5 miles from the school site

Grades 9–12: 2 miles from the school site

The radius zone is determined by drawing a circular boundary around the school’s central location within its designated attendance area. Students living beyond this distance are eligible for district-provided transportation services.
