Open Enrollment
The Open Enrollment window for the 2025–2026 school year is now closed.
We are currently processing submitted applications. If you completed and submitted an Open Enrollment application, you will receive a notification in late July/Early August with one of the following updates: Approved, Denied, Waitlisted
K–8th Grade transfer approvals may continue through October 15, 2025.
9th–12th Grade transfers will be finalized within the first three weeks of the school year.
Important Reminders
All families must complete Data Confirmation for their child through the Aeries Parent Portal, even if your student is currently assigned to their school of residence.
Completing Data Confirmation ensures we have updated contact and emergency information and helps streamline the transfer process if your application is approved.
-Submitting a transfer application does not guarantee approval.
-Parents/guardians are responsible for providing transportation if the request is approved.
-The athletic eligibility of students in 7th grade or above will be affected.
All decisions will be communicated via phone and ParentSquare.
Madera Unified School District offers families the opportunity to apply for schools outside of their attendance area through our annual Open Enrollment. Due to limited space, a lottery system is used to ensure fair and equitable access.You only need to apply for Open Enrollment if you wish your child to attend a school other than their designated school of residence. If you want your child to attend their assigned school, please complete the standard New Student Registration. Use our School Site Locator to determine your school of residence. Application is only available via Google Form and will be open March 1st - April 30th.
Annual Employment
Applications are available for parents who work within MUSD attendance boundaries. Once granted, students become residents of the district, not a specific school. Parents must verify employment annually to maintain enrollment. New School Year applications are available annually on March 1st.
Intra-District Transfer Applications
If you missed the Open Enrollment window, you may submit an Intra-District Transfer Application starting July 1st, 2025.Applications will be reviewed based on space availability and district guidelines.
Intra-district transfer requests will only be accepted for one of the following four reasons:
Change of residence within district boundaries, Employment, Child Care (K-6th grade only), Medical Reasons (Medical documentation required)
