The Enhanced Gang Intervention Program,in cooperation with E.L.O.P. / After-School Program initiated a Boxing Program with Gonzalez Boxing of Madera, CA.
CA Code 8482-8484.6, EDC.
This program, enhances the Intervention Program to encourage identified students to participate in the program, free-of-charge, to see another way to interact with other similar students, learn acceptable ways to interact with other students, physical fitness, street safety and meets the school enrichment mandate for after school programs during school days, summer, intersession or vacation days.

Students are required to sign up for the ELOP After School Program and participate in the boxing program 2x a week. They are then required to attend the After School Program two or the three remaining days and have limited disciplinary issues. Student participants are further required to have signed a medical waiver and field trip permission slip for site transportation on the two boxing days.

Public Hearings regarding the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), Budget Overview for Parents and the Proposed Budget for the Madera Unified School District will be held before the governing board of the district at Madera Unified School District Board Room, 1902 Howard Road, Madera CA 93637 on June 9, 2026 at 6:00 pm. The proposed budget will be available for inspection at the district office, 1902 Howard Road, Madera CA 93637 on June 4, 2026. Any member of the public may appear and be heard concerning the Local Control Accountability Plan and any resident of the district may object to the proposed budget or any item in the budget.
