Local Control & Accountability Plan (LCAP)

What is LCAP?

The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a critical part of the new way the state of California funds school districts through the local control funding formula process (LCFF). School districts will receive additional funds based on the number of Low Income, English Learner and Foster Youth students that are enrolled within the district. The state is allowing districts to work in partnership with the community to decide how best to use the funds. We need your help as parents, educators, employees, students and the community in the planning process to determine how to allocate our resources to meet our districts vision and goals. Please join and participate in our stakeholder meetings as we continue to develop and update our LCAP.
For questions on the LCAP please contact the Performance Management Department by phone or email:

The State of California requires school districts to develop a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).
The LCAP requires school districts to gather input from students, teachers, parents, community members, and public agencies to determine the goals, actions, and budget priorities for the district. Please take a few minutes to give your input on this important process.
Public Hearings regarding the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), Budget Overview for Parents and the Proposed Budget for the Madera Unified School District will be held before the governing board of the district at Madera Unified School District Board Room, 1902 Howard Road, Madera CA 93637 on June 9, 2026 at 6:00 pm.
