Enroll Your Child

Choose one of the following options for your child.

New Student

Preschool

For new students to Madera Unified School District (MUSD), select the New Student Registration button.

For students who are returning to MUSD, even if they have left for a period of time, select a returning student.

The preschool program is specifically tailored for children who will turn three or four years old by December 1st. Select this option to access qualifications and guidelines.

New incoming TK or kindergarten students
Students coming from a charter school (Sherman Thomas, Liberty Charter School, Madera County Independent Academy, Pioneer Technical Center)
  • Returning Student
If you have previously attended school in MUSD and are returning for the 26-27 school year, you are considered a returning student and will need to select this option as your pre-enrollment.`
  • You will need the email address that was used to create your parent portal.
  • Once in the parent portal, you will see a yellow bar at the top that says to “click here,” and that will start the data confirmation process.
  • Once completed, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know the record was submitted.

Students need to be enrolled under their legal birth name assigned on their birth record.

If you are requesting your child to attend a different school other than your home school, please still complete the pre-enrollment process during the March window in order for your child to be counted in staffing and course assignments.

  • Declaration of Residency with a follow-up appointment to provide further documentation within 30 days of the submission of the declaration form

  • New Students: residency verification, a paper-pencil copy of health form, proof of student's age, and immunizations
  • 7th grade - residency verification and TDAP & 2nd Varicella
  • 9th grade - residency verification and TB screening
  • A student had a separation from the district at some point and is now returning for residency verification and updated immunizations
  • On a declaration during the 2025-2026 school year - residency verification
  • Affidavit of the parent, guardian, or custodian of the minor

Need Support With Online Enrollment?

In Person Support
School sites will provide in-person support beginning March 2nd. Please contact your child's school to verify hours of support.
Public Hearings regarding the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), Budget Overview for Parents and the Proposed Budget for the Madera Unified School District will be held before the governing board of the district at Madera Unified School District Board Room, 1902 Howard Road, Madera CA 93637 on June 9, 2026 at 6:00 pm. The proposed budget will be available for inspection at the district office, 1902 Howard Road, Madera CA 93637 on June 4, 2026. Any member of the public may appear and be heard concerning the Local Control Accountability Plan and any resident of the district may object to the proposed budget or any item in the budget.
