Physical Education

Physical Education provides a TK–12 comprehensive instructional experience aligned with the California state standards and Physical Education Framework for California Public Schools. All students in elementary, middle, and high school are required to complete physical education coursework as part of their state and graduation requirements. Elementary students receive physical education instruction for 200 minutes every 10 school days. High school students receive physical education instruction for 400 minutes every 10 school days.

Students receive instruction across eight core physical education disciplines throughout their educational journey, ensuring a broad and balanced curriculum: Effects of Physical Activity on Health, Mechanics of Body Movement, Aquatics, Gymnastics & Tumbling, Individual & Dual Sports, Rhythms & Dance, Team Sports, and Combatives. This ensures students graduate with a broad foundation of physical knowledge and skills.
While not every discipline is taught in every class, students graduate with meaningful exposure and foundational knowledge in each area.
