Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee

MUSD's Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee

California law mandates that when a community passes a school bond measure, the school district receiving the bond funds must assemble a committee to oversee the usage of those funds. This committee is comprised of community members and meets four times a year.

It is the responsibility of the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee to review financial audits of all bond projects and provide information to the public on the progress of the projects.

The goal of the committee is to ensure that all bond funds are used toward the building of new schools, as opposed to other areas such as salary increases or other construction not related to the building of new schools.

Members may serve no more than two terms, with each term lasting two years.
